Joe glances over to Nicky when he asks who has left this macabre display for them to see, but he doesn't answer. They both know there is only one person who could have left the old flag of Genoa for them to find.

He follows when Nicky starts heading for the makeshift flag, drawing his gun again, his eyes watchful. They get to it soon enough and Joe lets Nicky examine it, looking around with narrowed eyes. He can't tell if this is a message, or a trap. Once, he would have known Quynh well enough to be able to tell the difference. Now, he's not so sure anymore.

"She could still be there," he says, quietly. There are many places where she could be hiding, inside the derelict building. "Do you think she's trying to find us too?"
